Beene Garter is celebrating being named one of West Michigan’s 2022 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®. This is the 20th consecutive year our firm has received this award – a feat made possible by our outstanding team of accounting professionals and support staff! We’re grateful to every individual who helped make this achievement happen.
The Best and Brightest award is presented nationally each year by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). Award recipients are chosen based on their performance in multiple categories, including communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, and retention.
“We are so honored to be selected as one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®, which means so much because this award is based on an independent assessment of our employment practices, and an anonymous survey of our BG team,” said Kim Benac, director of human resources for Beene Garter. “Our shareholders work hard to create an environment where personal and professional growth, a spirit of collaboration, and excellent client service are the norm. Winning the Best and Brightest award for 20 consecutive years lets us know it’s working!”
In 2021, we received an additional honor: the Best & Brightest Brilliance Award. This award is given to organizations that have been program winners for 19 consecutive years, since the Best & Brightest’s West Michigan inception.
What makes Beene Garter a Best and Brightest Company to Work For®?
We’re proud of our firm’s ability to serve the needs of our clients and employees with equal enthusiasm. Here are some of the ways we strive to make Beene Garter a great place to work.
A positive work-life balance
Employees need a balance between their work and personal lives to perform their best. Because of this, we offer many initiatives to help our employees find that balance.
During tax season, we limit tax professionals to 56 work hours per week. In the summer, we offer a flexible work schedule. We also offer a generous paid time off policy.
Internal team members meet regularly to plan events promoting employee wellness and positive workplace relationships. While our team works hard, we ensure everyone can find the fun in working together.
Opportunities for collaboration and continued education
We have a low partner-to-staff ratio, open-concept workspaces, and an open-door policy. We encourage our employees to ask questions and try new things. And, we support employees’ efforts to attend conferences and educational events to expand their skills. Many of our employees collaborate between departments and work on a variety of projects.
Congratulations to all recipients of West Michigan’s 2022 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®. We appreciate your shared commitment to making West Michigan a great place to live and work.
