Human Resource Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the recruiting process for college interns and new graduates.  Develop strong relations with college recruiting offices and accounting department personnel.
  • Manage the staffing process for all positions in the practice.
  • Position Beene Garter as a preferred employer and great place to work.  
  • Oversee the performance management process.  Ensure that staff are provided with constructive feedback and challenging development plans. 
  • Oversee the professional credentialing process.  Ensure that staff credentials are updated and documented.
  • Develop and implement an ongoing training and learning program through a corporate university and other professional development experiences.
  • Develop and manage programs and initiatives that support a culture of exceptional client service. 
  • Coordinate and administer insurance and benefits programs for the staff
  • Provide administrative management for the firm.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human resource or business management, Masters preferred
  • 5-10 years experience in human resource management.  Experience with a professional services firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with others.
  • Experience creating a culture of high customer service.
  • Able to manage multiple projects providing strong results.
  • Able to quickly learn company specific software for enterprise management.  Adept at social media.  Proficient at Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Strong performance evaluation and coaching skills.

Assistant to the Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a CCH time and billing software expert
  • Accurately enter information into various databases for new and existing clients and staff, and keep the information up-to-date
  • Ensure daily time entry is completed by all staff and review for accuracy
  • Post time to Work in Process (WIP), prepare billings for management review and reconcile WIP at month-end
  • Send invoices and statements to clients
  • Maintain accounts receivable process, receive and verify payments, apply to client accounts, prepare and send past due notices, maintain notes receivable and reconcile balances at month-end
  • Maintain accounts payable, process payments, prepare checks and prepare month-end reports in Excel
  • Coordinate collections process, arrange  terms, maintain records and prepare reports
  • Train new staff on time entry procedures

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Five or more years of experience in general accounting, accounts receivable and payable, and collections
  • Ability to use the following softwares at an expert level: QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, CCH Practice, Microsoft Office Great Plans, iChannel and other related accounting or financial software
  • Ability to operate various types of technological equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Accounting Services Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document accounting and recordkeeping systems utilizing technology
  • Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Prepare various tax returns, including payroll, and meet deadlines
  • Assist clients in evaluating accounting staffing needs and make recommendations
  • Provide support as on-site interim accounting staff
  • Plan and complete compilation and consulting engagements
  • Achieve advanced user status in Creative Solutions and QuickBooks software
  • Review financial statements, tax returns and client reports and ensure the accuracy of the information
  • Provide clients with the training and support services needed for their accounting software
  • Review accounting needs, procedures and controls, and advise and implement modifications as needed
  • Manage department workflow to ensure efficient delivery of services

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Certification in QuickBooks
  • Ability to use and train others on Creative Solutions
  • Five or more years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public accounting environment serving small to medium sized businesses
  • CPA designation is a plus
